Dr. Andreas Schuck

graduated with a diploma degree in geophysics at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum in the year 1990. Since then he is working in the field of applied seismics. In 1997 he received a doctor’s degree at the Technische Universität Berlin. His activities are focussed on high resolution seismic imaging of the underground for exploration, geothermal energy, infrastructure, or cavities. In addition, he is lecturer at the Universities of Leipzig and Halle, treasurer of the BDG and spokesman of the working group "Applied Geophysics" of the German Geophysical Organisation (DGG).

Knut Seidel

is working in the area of applied geophysics since he graduated in geophysics at the Bergakademie Freiberg in 1975. Primarily he puts emphasis on potential field methods with focus on gravimetric, geoelectrical and electromagnetic methods. In addition to measurement and interpretation of field data, the methodological development of potential field procedures is in the centre of attention. Experience ranges from prospecting of natural resources (oil, gas, coal) at home and abroad to the exploration of groundwater, infrastructure, cavities, derelict land, dumpsites and waste deposits. He has been consultant for the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS), the IAEA and the ESCWA. In addition, he is developing method specific software (e.g. for 3D gravity modelling).
